Jail Facility Overview in Stanislaus County

The Stanislaus County Public Safety Center is the county’s largest detention facility in Stanislaus County, CA. It is the primary detention and administrative campus for the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department. The facility has a baseline capacity of approximately 918 beds, though expansions have aimed to increase this to over 1,300 beds. This includes 57 beds for medical and mental health patients, and a 15-bed health services unit.

Stanislaus County Visitation Rules and Schedules

Visits to Stanislaus County’s jail facilities follow a structured process, and visitors must abide by visitation rules.

Who can visit?

Individuals who complete a Visitor Request Form online and are approved can schedule a visit through the GTL/Viapath Portal . (approval typically takes 24 to 72 hours). Visitors under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must also be an approved visitor. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office may not approve visitation if the visitor is on probation/parole, has an open criminal case, has been in state prison in the last 5 years, or has a restraining order against the inmate they intend to visit.
